MILWAUKEE – The Oriental Theatre is receiving a facelift now in section 4 of five of renovations.
While the lights have been off for virtually a year, the Oriental Theatre in Milwaukee is glowing.
“It was really just earning it shine,” reported Ryan Putskey, cinema manager. “We’ve absolutely redone the lights. We’ve touched up a ton of the paint. We have refinished a ton of the plasterwork that experienced fallen in the earlier yr.”
Milwaukee Movie is in phase 4 of 5 of renovations and updates to the theatre as element of a multi-million greenback job. On Friday, FOX6 News got a sneak preview of some of the function getting completed forward of the last act.

“Section four has been having put for in essence the earlier yr,” mentioned Putskey. “We have been redoing the major dwelling, the main auditorium, which is our major auditorium. It seats about 1,000 people today.”
Other updates include things like balcony and ceiling restoration even though preserving historic, ornamental factors. Putskey explained some of the operate was straightforward — cleansing or repainting.
“There ended up a lot of things that necessary do the job,” he explained. “There were literal holes that required patching in the ceiling.”
While the motion picture palace is now complete of specifics and layouts, Putskey said he won’t be able to hold out to pull again the curtain for anyone through the grand re-opening.
